Founded in 1946, The Caledonian Society of Norway™
is an official Member of the St Andrew Society,
incorporating the World Federation of Scottish Societies & Individuals.
We are proud of our history and traditions, and are also keen to look to the future
always prepared to adapt and progress where and when necessary,
in order to provide a better service to our present members and our successors.
Our Patron is The Rt. Hon. The Earl of Caithness PC. Our constitution states the reason for our existence, which is:
..."to promote the cultural relationship between Norway and Scotland to be achieved by appropriate lecturers, gatherings, etc."
The purpose of this guide is to act as a supplement to the Society's Constitution, by giving general details of "The Cally" of Norway.
In this manner, it is aimed to present an understanding of "Who we are", "What we do" and "How you can join us". This is directed at all current members, and all potential new members with a view to encouraging them to apply for membership.
